Keep Up with Our LearningTo the best of my ability, I will regularly post on our classroom Twitter feed in order to share the things we are doing in 1S. It is often helpful to see what we are learning so that you can communicate with your child at home about their day or week! "I saw on Twitter today that..." or "I saw you were exploring with..."
I am always available to discuss your child's learning. Don't ever hesitate to reach out via email or during my office hours! (Office Hours - Tuesdays 7:30-7:55) BirthdaysTo celebrate birthdays in 1S, we will:
*We will not celebrate birthdays with food* If your child would like to bring something in for the class, you can make a book donation to 1S. A book donation could be a child's favorite book that they would like to share with the class. Your child's name will go into the book, and we will read it during the day on your child's birthday. To avoid any unintentional hurt feelings, invitations for birthday parties should not be passed out in school. Presents for a child's birthday party should not be given in school. If your child's birthday falls on a weekend, we will celebrate the day before or after their birthday. If your child has a summer birthday, we will celebrate in June. If your child does not feel comfortable with any of the above planned activities, please let me know and we can modify the celebration. |
Breakfast, Snack, and LunchFirst graders should eat breakfast each day! Please make sure your child eats breakfast, or comes to school in time to eat breakfast in the cafeteria.
We will have snack time every day. Please send a healthy, nut free snack and drink with your child to school every day. If your child brings lunch to school, please label their lunch box with their name and 1S. Absent/ Leaving EarlyWhen your child is absent, please call and notify the office. If your child is leaving early, notify me and sign your child out in the office.
